Real-Time Alerts & Notifications

Real-time alerts are automated notifications triggered immediately when a monitored environmental parameter (temperature, humidity, etc.) crosses a pre-configured threshold. Alerts can be delivered via multiple channels simultaneously: SMS text messages, emails, push notifications, phone calls, and integration with platforms like Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Advanced alert systems support escalation rules (if the first responder does not acknowledge within 15 minutes, alert the supervisor), pre-alarm warnings (alert at 7°C before the 8°C excursion threshold), and repeat intervals to ensure critical alerts are not missed.

The value of continuous monitoring is only realised if excursions trigger immediate human response. Without real-time alerts, data loggers become passive recorders that document failures after the fact rather than preventing them. The difference between a 5-minute excursion and a 5-hour excursion often determines whether products can be saved or must be discarded.
